Episode 18 Let the #BUDSKAL (be)Gin!

Happy new episode Tipsy Knitters! We’re back with a new episode, plenty of news, our first KAL and our usual tipsy action!

This episode Cia introduces Pip to gin via the delicious Rock Rose Premium Scottish Gin from Dunnet Bay Distillers (acquired during Cia’s recent trip to Thurso). Spoiler alert- Pip’s a gin convert now!

As ever, we have a chat about what’s on and off our needles. Pip’s all about cosy hats after shaving her head to raise oodles of money for Cancer Research UK, and still plugging away at her Building Blocks shawl. Meanwhile, Cia has been very much enjoying working with Lagom Felt Studio‘s 100% Alpaca DK from Perth Festival of Yarn, and merrily hiding wips around her flat.

Last episode we started a giveaway over in our Ravelry thread, asking you to share your favourite autumnal drinks with us. Thank you to everyone who offered up some delicious-sounding suggestions! Our friendly online random number generator picked out Miriyummy as the winner of the Perth Festival of Yarn tote bag.

This episode sees the launch of our Bundled Up Destash KAL (AKA #BUDSKAL because we love a wee acronym). From November 1st through to January, we will be knitting cosy projects to keep us Bundled Up for the winter, and as we’ve had such a blast going through our stashes lately, we figure we’ll complete the KAL using items from our stash (that’s the DeStash part!). If you want to join in:
-Start a project during the KAL run time (Nov 1st- January 5th)
-Garments and accessories only- the project must be something to get all Bundled Up in during the Winter (see what we did there?!)
-Post about it in our chatter and FO KAL threads on Ravelry (and share them on social media using #BUDSKAL- we’re nosy and love a good Instagram session!)
-You can double-dip with other KALS, but no WIPS please.
Naturally, we’ve got prizes too! CaledoniaDyeWorks donated a yummy mini skein set to the podcast, and we’ve also got some other goodies too.

Not only do you have the KAL to enjoy, but there’s also Perth Festival of Yarn’s Winter’s Coming Knit Faster event, as well as some Edinburgh Yarn Fest news to boot!

See you next month!
