Happy New Year, Tipsy Knitters! We’re back and kicking off 2019…the same way we do every year. No “new year, new me” nonsense here!
In our glasses:
Pip’s on Tesco’s flavoured sparkling water as she is currently pregnant and therefore not drinking alcohol. Please note that whilst Pip does mention her pregnancy in this episode, we’re not turning into a baby knits podcast- like we said, new year, same us! Equally, she is in regular contact with her doctor etc, so please don’t worry about her.
Meanwhile, Cia’s drinking for two to make up for Pip’s not drinking. Cia has The Sweet Potato Co. Sweet Potato Moonshine in the Pink Marshmallow flavour, and the Chocolate and Chilli flavour. Spoiler: THEY’RE DELICIOUS.
All the SPAM!

BUDSKAL- The Prizes!
Thank you all for entering this year’s KAL. We’re absolutely over the moon to have had so many of you taking part, and we’re feeling very inspired for the year ahead having had a nosey at all of your FO’s!
So…prizes. We’ve added an extra prize just so we can kick off 2019 with an extra bit of fun and sharing of knitty goodness! To ensure fairness, we put everyone’s posts into a spreadsheet and used random.org to draw our winners.
Our prize winners are:
Post #68 by ticket2knit – you get some knitty goodies including a Twill & Print stitch keeper and a cheeky mini skein.
Post #7 by folktaleknits- you are now the owner of a skein from Biscotte Yarn.
Post #27 by thebluefairy – you receive a pack of Doulton Border Leicester minis.
Post #54 by fraunachgedanken – the delicious skeins from Mrs Lam Yarn we’ve been coveting for months are now yours!
Congratulations to our winners, please message Cia on Ravelry to arrange prize sending/receiving.
Thank you again to everyone who took part, we hope you enjoyed knitting through your stash. Maybe we’ll see more BUDSKAL action later this year 😉
The Year Ahead
Edinburgh Yarn Festival is around the corner and general admission tickets are about to go on sale (at time of recording and writing) Sign up to their newsletter for all the latest news from the EYF team. See you there?!
This year will be a busy year for us both- it’s still January and we both have very full personal lives. We’ll still be recording every month, but please be aware that we both have more to negotiate than before. We will, of course, do what we can to keep building on and improving the podcast. As ever, we’re both extremely grateful of your support.
We recorded this episode prior to the current discussions about racism and inclusion within the knitting community, however we have and are taking the time to listen, learn and educate ourselves. We can do better.
