Episode 20 Merry Knitmas 2017

Time’s flown and we’re somehow at episode 20, Christmas, and our last episode of 2017. We’re getting into the spirits- quite literally- and trying some local-to-us gin from Makar, obtained from the St Enoch Christmas market. Yum!

We have our usual on and off the needles chatter, with Pip getting back into bunting, and Cia finishing off a few Christmas gifts (and avoiding her long term wips).

December 9th saw us head along to Warm and Working at The Queen of Purls in aid of Big Issue vendors (can’t believe another year has passed since the last one!) Plenty of knitters kindly donated knitted items to keep the vendors warm and working on their pitches this year, and over £200 was raised too- fantastic! We had a lovely time, chatting to some of our favourite knitty people (Zoe, Leona of Fluph and Rusty Ferret fame, Jess of Ginger Twist Studios, Jules of Woollen Flower, Lorna of Chookie Birdie) and acquiring a few last minute stash enhancements. Don’t forget, you can support your local vendors throughout the year by buying a copy of The Big Issue from them- new issues are out every Monday.

This episode sees a very special review- we have our copies of Karie Westermann’s This Thing of Paper, and naturally we have some squeeing to do. We share our thoughts on Karie’s beautiful book- from the patterns right down to the smell of the pages!

As it’s somehow the end of the year, we also take a quick look back at our knitolutions (see what we did there?) from the start of the year. Find out how we got on, and feel free to let us know how you got on too!

That’s it for 2017. Wherever you are, we hope you have a peaceful time over the festive period, and we wish you plenty of yarn, patterns, and time to craft.

See you in 2018!
