Are you going to Perth Festival of Yarn in September? We are, and this episode we share our excitement about going on more yarny escapades.

We recorded a little earlier than usual, so due to licensing laws, episode 16 is a non-alcoholic one, as Cia tries to persuade Pip that Shloer is a relatively okay alternative to proper rose. The results will become evident as you listen!

As ever, we chat FO’s and WIPs. Both of us have been loving lace since we last recorded, with Pip finishing her day-glo Snowmelt shawl, and Cia raves about the recently-released Oracle shawl (seriously, everyone should knit several!)
Both of us have been on a wee Stash Acquisition Mission having successfully spent the past few months working from our respective stashes quite successfully. Friend of the podcast Heather kindly picked up some lovely hand-dyed Falkland merino from The Crafty Ewe on our behalf, Pip’s dad sent her some yummy Zealana Rimu, and Pip also got her hands on some podcast-favourite yarn, Rusty Ferret Doll 4ply in the delicious Steam Punk Angle colourway. Meanwhile, Cia’s parents went on a mini yarn tour around the Hebrides, returning with some Handspinner Having Fun BFL DK and some very sheepy Harris Tweed Co. Hebrides Aran. There may have also been a few additional purchases of Canadian yarns from Cia too. It’s like she’s been dating a Canadian and he’s affecting her yarn purchasing somehow…

We also squee in typical Tipsy Knits fashion about Perth Festival of Yarn, taking placing 10th September in the Dewars Centre in Perth. After a brief change in plans, both of us will now be attending and we are all flavours of can’t wait to be there. If you see us (or more likely hear us high on yarn fumes), do come say hi- we’d love to chat to you! We’ll be back next month to share our highlights.
What are you waiting for? Grab a drink (alcoholic or otherwise- it doesn’t need to be Shloer!) and settle down with the latest episode.
